2011 – 14th Annual Teddy Bear Tea
Frogtown’s Mark Twain Hall was packed with happy children and fun activities for the 14th annual Teddy Bear Tea on November 6, 2011, sponsored by Soroptimist International of Calaveras County (SICC).
At Sunday’s event, tables were filled with gifts for both children and adults. Raffle tickets were purchased and placed in the bags adjacent to the varied gifts. Smiles and excitement became the norm when the tickets were drawn and the lucky winners came forward. Dolls, trucks, games, musical keyboards, a boy’s and a girl’s bicycle, and a huge stuffed teddy bear were only a few of the treasures won that afternoon!
Prior to the tea, children participated in face painting, crafts, watch jugglers and had photos taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
All enjoyed the ballet performance of “The Nutcracker” performed by Studio 4 dancers. Parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles all delighted in joining their children to enjoy the “high-tea type” lunch. More than 220 were in attendance.
Members of Soroptimist International of Calaveras County (SICC) work tirelessly to improve the lives of women and girls both locally and globally. Proceeds from the Teddy Bear Tea and other Soroptimist sponsored events benefit the many club projects and monetary awards given throughout the year.
