Co-chairs Shelly Smith and Carol Jones-Giannini are to be commended for the great organizational job they did to bring this event together —Thank you ladies!

Hosting an event like our 5th Annual  Chili Cook-off would not be possible if not for monetary and merchandise donations from our loyal, supportive sponsors.  Dignity Health has sponsored every one of our 5 chili cook-offs—THANK YOU!  Save-Mart Stores have supported us by providing free bottles of water for our guests for several years running and this year provided free shopping bags and had guests registering for a drawing.  Adela & AD Hawkins, owners of Trophy Works, always come through with donations of prizes, trophies & this year provided coffee cups, aprons, mitts and more with the Chili Cook-off identification –we couldn’t do this without you guys!  AAA Insurance, in Angels Camp, assembled a door prize –a huge cooler of merchandise  which was won by Lori & Joe Bauer. Other merchandise providers include: Ace Hardware-Arnold, Needles in Motion, The Out-House in Arnold, and Fine Things—thank you all…..And, none of this would be possible without the ongoing, VERY, VERY generous Murphys Hotel.  Having a venue of this calibre and the caring, involved and generous Brian, Kevin and Josh, owners of the Hotel, are the BEST!  Soroptimists International of Calaveras County take their hats off to each of you. Thank you so much.

Other than chili tasting, the Soroptimists sold chances on two overflowing raffle baskets – one a wine basket and the 2nd one loaded with supplies for a fabulous BBQ! Winner of the wine basket was Cindy Burns, Angels Camp and the BBQ cooler was won by John & Robin Eudy….Congrats to each!

Popular Choice was the way winners were determined.  Prizes were given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the Chili Category, Sides Category and Theme Category.
